Patience is the fruit of inner peace, something in very short supply these days.
I read that on a comment on a blog today. How true it is, the whole statement.
Patience. It's a word no one wants to hear. My daughter asks often, "What am I to learn?" speaking of things that happen in her life that aren't so pleasant. And last night she added, "And don't tell me patience this time." What am I to answer? Ask the Lord, if you don't what to hear what I have to say!
Inner peace. Where does one find this commodity? With so much stress around us today, just how does one find peace anywhere? What do you do to find peace in your life? Please tell me, so I can go there, too!
Actually, I do have a place to find peace, tranquility, or whatever you call it. It's sitting right where I am right now, in front of my computer, writing! It's my place of solace. We all have to find where it is for ourselves.
Another daughter suggested I write about how reading a book can help smooth out the stress in one's life. I agree with her. If you have a great book and a warm place to get comfortable, your mind can take you anywhere, where you can do anything, and with anyone.
It doesn't just take a good writer, it also takes a good reader! Now, wait a minute. A good reader? Well, let me say it this way. A reader with imagination.
I love to read a good adventure book, or a great romance book. It's like watching a movie. I can see in my mind exactly what is going on in the story. It's that way when I'm writing, too.
I consider myself a pretty good writer. Well, only because I have many people who have read my books and then tell me that I need to be published, or that if I was published, she would look for my name for other books. That kind of helps tell me that my stories are good.
So, I decided to go get published so more people can find a little solace too. Self published, that is. With over 250 manuscripts going to publishers every single day, it is hard to get a book into a publisher's hands and traditionally published.
So, if you need a little down time, some stress-relief, an adventure or romance, my suggestion is to go pick up a book. Mine are available on Amazon.com as paperbacks and Kindles. I'd love to hear how you like my books, so please tell me. Review on Amazon.com, or below, or email me at momofemmett@gmail.com
